The Minx and her Muses, Farm Photo Shoot

I love to dress people up, and adore taking photees, so when fellow Wwoofer and wanderer, the beautiful Christina Weidner owner of ImiLoaPhotography agreed to be my muse for the day, I was ecstatic. Both Christina and I are totally clothes minded and spend most of our days admiring each others outfits.  Yes, we lived on a farm, but who says Farmers cant be stylish eh??
Our morning was spent turning the spare room in the Wwoofer house into Wardrobe, Hair & Make up and I bossed Christina into various different outfits to create our look book for the shoot, which thankfully she was happy to do and has you can see from the pics she rocked each and every one.

Todays T-shirt lovage...

Yes, I have a wee bit of a passion for cute T-shirts, they are kinda "my thing" at the moment, Shir are they not the most versatile item in a gals wardrobe!?!

While prowling the net looking for inspiration for Christmas presses, I stumbled upon www.ladyumbrella.com, a super cute and quirky company based in our fine Capital, Dublin, aheammm should be Cork (Yes, you guessed it, I'm from Cork) anyway, I digress. Inspired by Irish weather and set up by Elena & Rob in 2008, their story is one that would bring a smile to your face, check it out here and the very quirky range of T,s will no doubt bring on a cheeky grin also, check em and get em, also having a penchant for cooky little notebooks, I was delighted to see that the lovelies at Lady Umbrella have that very thing, in fact a selection of them! A fab pressie for the lady who loves to doddle!

Snapped while wandering in Toronto

Love wall - Kensington Market Toronto

Hello Toronto

Niagara Falls

More than a hostel, its an experience, Sage Wellness Hostel

I stumbled on all kinds of kindness on my travels, wonderful company, wise words, free dinners, and even a laptop, to name but a few. Equally I have a few bad things happened also, which when traveling alone can make you a little weary! So when choosing somewhere to stay in Toronto, I decided a little pampering was in order and choose to book a room at the Sage wellness hostel an all female high end boutique hostel in mid town Toronto, that also offered Spa Treatments and the main deal breaker was it was $35.00 per night including breakfast... Sweet, that will do nicely, I thought and booked in for 4 nights.

Communication with the gang from Sage was a little surprising and not what you would expect from a hostel, but wonderful nonetheless. A welcome email to inform me that payment will be taken before arrival and details of facilities, policies, directions etc. I choose the pick up service from the hostel which was cheaper that a Taxi and I was arriving late at night. Again a great service, Roxy, the owner picked me up, which I felt was a nice personal touch. On arrival to Sage you will realise everything about the place has the personal touch. Girlie products for your use, dressing gowns and slippers all gave the hostel a welcoming sense of a home from home, which was exactly what I wanted. The beds look like your standard hostel bunks, but all boost an amazingly comfortable mattress that make it hard to get out of each morning. Breakfast is served at a time before 10am that suits you and is not to be missed, it varied, but everyday was a nutritional feast.

I decided to go on the Niagara Falls tour run by the girls at Sage and I can safely say it was one a the best tours I had been on. I have been traveling for 7 months now, so I have had my fair share of tours, this came out tops, in terms of value for money and good craic! We started off with a visit to a farm for Breakfast, a few stops in local vineyards, Lunch in Niagara on the lake, and of course, a visit to Niagara Falls, we were given time for pottering around Niagara, which is normally not the case in your run of the mill tours.

I had some travel problems to which Roxy and Corinne came to my aid and saved the day,  this is not expected while your staying at a 5 star hotel, no mind a hostel. They gave great advice, went above and beyond the call of duty and are the kind of women you want to have by your side when the chips are down. I cant thank them enough for the kindness and love they showed me!

Roxy, the owner runs a tight ship here, its her home, she puts all of her energy into making your experience in Toronto a memorable one, be respectful to her and her place and you will be treated like a queen and receive her kindness and love in abundance. Sage is much more than a hostel, its an experience. Stay here!

Check out sagewellnessbnbhostel blog for some great offers and tour info.

*Craic - Irish phase for great fun, not to be confused with the drug "Crack" :)

Speaking words of wisdom...

Sometimes someone says something to you and it just resonates, it springs to mind every time you have one of those days, hours, or weeks, when your thinking what the f**k am I going to do with my life? How am I going to live a happy and fulfilled life? Have I made the right choices?  blah blah, you know those annoying kinda questions that pop up every now and again!
Well, my Granny, who is the queen of wise words, shared some of her wisdom with me one day while I was in a one of my pensive moods, padding around her kitchen contemplating all of the above... "Bronny my dear, whats for you wont pass you by" and she is right, there will come a time when seemingly random events line up, things just fall into place, when the universe gives you those hints, the synchronicity is more that just coincidence and you just know, this is for me, and if its right it wont pass me by...

For my wise and wonderful Granny x

Handmade LOVE!!

I love Etsy and spend hours drooling over the handmade, vintage goodies on offer. I give major kudos to anyone that can whip up amazing pieces themselves, its a talent I unfortunately do not have seemed to have mastered, although most of my family have, so I hope its just a case of nurturing it... I,ll keep ye posted on that one!!

I came across Heart and Sow Designs recently while on one of my Etsy pervs, it is the cutest little online store stocking Handmade retro and vintage gifts, check out her aprons, you will want them all! Heart & Sow, obviously a super talented, creative genius, also make accessories, scarves, headbands and wheel chair blankets... all made awesome gift ideas, or just a nice treat to yourself, I mean who does not need a apron eh.

Yummi Hawaii!

I had never heard of an Acai Bowl until my trip to Hawaii, people raved about it at the hostels, its delicious, try it! So after a hard morning of wrestling with a surf board, Hannah and I headed to Bogarts  Cafe at Diamond Head to sample a well deserved Acai Bowl and it did not disappoint, a huge bowl over flowing with Blueberries, Strawberries, Bananas, Granola and of course Acai landed in front of us, honestly I struggled to finish it, it was amazing, the best $7.95 I have ever spent on food. Acai has been touted as a super food in Central and South America for years and is a wonderful energy boost, this breakfast will keep you going all day. Try it!
Acai Bowl, Bogarts, Honolulu
If Acai is not your thing, Bogarts have an amazing menu which is pretty reasonably priced as the quality of the food is outstanding. Try the Pancakes, or French Toast, both ridiculously yummi! Just to forewarn you, when heading to Bogarts be prepared to wait, bus your own table, and pay with cash (no cards accepted) all this aside, its the most delicious food you will find in Honolulu.

Next up, Kahumana Cafe, OK yes, I did work here, so you could say the recommendation is a little biased, but the food here is amazing, if organic food is your passion, even if its not, GO HERE! Nothing is over $15, everything on the menu is fresh and homemade, the daily specials vary and include choice of soup or salad. The deserts, well, wow... Robert, the cafe manager, is a wizard at deserts and his Lilikoi cheesecake is to die for, light, refreshing with a little tang, it is the best cheesecake i have ever tasted, and I have had my share of cheesecake, its my weakness.
The farm is right in front of the cafe for you to admire in all its glory and you can see where your salad, veggies etc have been harvested that very day... Now that is a farm to table experience.
Lilikoi cheesecke.. Mmmmmm

Get of the beaten track

Yes yes, I have been rabbiting on about Hawaii a little too much, I love it though, so instead of ranting on bout it, I give you a little advice and some of my fav photees!

Advice: Go of the beaten track... spend one day in Waikiki, spend the rest getting lost, wandering, meeting locals, experience what Hawaii is really about!! The Aloha Spirit x
