More than a hostel, its an experience, Sage Wellness Hostel

I stumbled on all kinds of kindness on my travels, wonderful company, wise words, free dinners, and even a laptop, to name but a few. Equally I have a few bad things happened also, which when traveling alone can make you a little weary! So when choosing somewhere to stay in Toronto, I decided a little pampering was in order and choose to book a room at the Sage wellness hostel an all female high end boutique hostel in mid town Toronto, that also offered Spa Treatments and the main deal breaker was it was $35.00 per night including breakfast... Sweet, that will do nicely, I thought and booked in for 4 nights.

Communication with the gang from Sage was a little surprising and not what you would expect from a hostel, but wonderful nonetheless. A welcome email to inform me that payment will be taken before arrival and details of facilities, policies, directions etc. I choose the pick up service from the hostel which was cheaper that a Taxi and I was arriving late at night. Again a great service, Roxy, the owner picked me up, which I felt was a nice personal touch. On arrival to Sage you will realise everything about the place has the personal touch. Girlie products for your use, dressing gowns and slippers all gave the hostel a welcoming sense of a home from home, which was exactly what I wanted. The beds look like your standard hostel bunks, but all boost an amazingly comfortable mattress that make it hard to get out of each morning. Breakfast is served at a time before 10am that suits you and is not to be missed, it varied, but everyday was a nutritional feast.

I decided to go on the Niagara Falls tour run by the girls at Sage and I can safely say it was one a the best tours I had been on. I have been traveling for 7 months now, so I have had my fair share of tours, this came out tops, in terms of value for money and good craic! We started off with a visit to a farm for Breakfast, a few stops in local vineyards, Lunch in Niagara on the lake, and of course, a visit to Niagara Falls, we were given time for pottering around Niagara, which is normally not the case in your run of the mill tours.

I had some travel problems to which Roxy and Corinne came to my aid and saved the day,  this is not expected while your staying at a 5 star hotel, no mind a hostel. They gave great advice, went above and beyond the call of duty and are the kind of women you want to have by your side when the chips are down. I cant thank them enough for the kindness and love they showed me!

Roxy, the owner runs a tight ship here, its her home, she puts all of her energy into making your experience in Toronto a memorable one, be respectful to her and her place and you will be treated like a queen and receive her kindness and love in abundance. Sage is much more than a hostel, its an experience. Stay here!

*Craic - Irish phase for great fun, not to be confused with the drug "Crack" :)
